Experienced Studio Manager for Award-Winning Engineering & Design Practice

An award-winning, multidisciplinary engineering and design practice is seeking a proactive and highly organised Studio Manager to join its London team.

This is a pivotal role at the heart of the studio, supporting senior leadership with day-to-day operations and providing vital HR coordination across the business. It’s a fantastic opportunity for someone with experience managing office or studio environments who’s looking to take on greater responsibility.

You’ll play a key part in fostering a positive and collaborative studio culture while ensuring smooth operations across people, projects, and processes.

Key Responsibilities:

HR Support

– Manage and update HR policies, procedures, and the staff handbook

– Maintain HR systems and accurate employee records

– Support recruitment from offer letters and references through to onboarding and inductions

– Coordinate visa applications and compliance

– Organise performance reviews, training, and professional development

– Assist with monthly payroll in collaboration with Finance

– Support leadership with HR reporting and compliance

– Conduct exit interviews and manage feedback

Studio Management

– Oversee daily studio operations to ensure an efficient and well-organised environment

– Manage Health & Safety compliance and company insurance

– Support leadership with office policies, systems, and company procedures

– Help cultivate a collaborative and positive studio culture

– Engage with business improvement initiatives and long-term planning

– Provide administrative and operational support where needed

What We’re Looking For:

– Proven experience in an office or studio management role, ideally within a creative, engineering, or design-led environment

– Solid understanding of HR processes and UK employment law

– Excellent organisational and multitasking skills

– Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite

– A proactive, adaptable, and solutions-focused approach

– Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills

– Professional, approachable, and discreet when handling sensitive information

– CIPD Level 3 qualification (or equivalent experience) preferred
