Financial Controller – International Architecture Practice
An experienced Finance Manager is sought by a highly regarded, international architecture and design practice with studios in London and Oslo. With ambitious, high-profile projects across the world and a reputation for creativity and innovation, the practice is committed to creating places – and a workplace – that bring joy, collaboration, and purpose.
This is a pivotal role at the heart of the studio, offering the opportunity to shape financial strategy, refine systems, and support directors in decision-making. The successful candidate will be highly skilled in Xero, confident managing the complexities of multi-company, multi-currency accounting, and adept at navigating the financial structures unique to the architecture and design sector.
Key Responsibilities
– Oversee day-to-day finance operations including bookkeeping, payroll, invoicing, reconciliations, expenses, and supplier payments
– Produce monthly management accounts, cashflow forecasts, annual budgets, and board reports, ensuring compliance with HMRC and audits
– Manage multi-company, multi-currency accounts and project-based billing in Xero and project management software
– Monitor project profitability, fee tracking, and provide financial insights to support strategic decision-making
– Refine and maintain financial systems, processes, and policies, harnessing new technologies to improve efficiency
– Liaise with directors, accountants, auditors, and external providers while supporting and mentoring finance staff as needed
This is a rare opportunity to make a significant impact in a forward-thinking international studio, combining financial leadership with the chance to contribute to the growth and success of global design projects.
