Operations & Finance Manager sought for thoughtful and refined Architecture Practice (Rotterdam)
A leading, multi-award-winning architectural practice with studios in both the Netherlands and the UK is seeking an Operations & Finance Manager to join its Rotterdam office. Known for its design-led approach and a portfolio that ranges from city-scale masterplanning to finely crafted mixed-use, residential, and educational buildings, the practice is driven by a commitment to shaping places where people and communities can thrive.
This is a multifaceted role within a specialist business team, combining strategic operational oversight with hands-on financial management. It offers the opportunity to work closely with project leads, senior management, and finance teams across two countries.
Key Responsibilities
Guide and support project leads in defining project appointments, scopes of service, and deliverables.
Lead regular financial reviews to monitor project profitability.
Ensure consistent use of internal processes and systems.
Contribute to the company’s overall risk-management strategy.
Oversee budgeting, forecasting, invoicing, billing, and credit control.
Manage bookkeeping, tax and VAT compliance, payroll, and financial reporting.
Collaborate with the UK-based Finance Lead to ensure alignment of financial data and company-wide reporting.
About you
Fluent proficiency in both Dutch and English is essential.
Experience in financial management with strong accounting knowledge.
Advanced user skills in Microsoft Excel; proficiency in the full Microsoft Office suite.
Experience with systems such as Accounts IQ or Rapport is beneficial (training available).
Strong analytical and problem-solving abilities with excellent attention to detail.
High self-awareness, emotional intelligence, and a collaborative, inquisitive working style.
