Prestigious Architecture Studio seeks Operations Lead

About the role

A respected London-based architecture and design studio is looking to appoint an experienced and proactive Operations Lead to play a key role in the effective day-to-day and long-term running of its expanding practice.

This is a senior leadership position within a studio of more than 100 architects, interior designers, and researchers, all driven by a shared enthusiasm for materials, craft, technology and making. Operating within a highly collaborative culture, the Operations Director will be instrumental in ensuring the studio operates smoothly, efficiently and with confidence as it continues to grow and evolve.

Key responsibilities

Lead the overall operational management of the practice, reporting to the board and supporting directors and senior leadership

Shape and implement operational strategy in line with wider business objectives

Oversee studio operations and resourcing, supporting growth and organisational change

Take ownership of compliance, risk and governance, including ISO 9001/14001, Health & Safety and insurances

Lead the practice’s B Corp certification process

Manage facilities, studio environment, equipment and landlord relationships

Set and drive IT strategy, oversee systems development and line-manage the IT function

Provide senior oversight of finance, HR and budgets, supporting learning, training and development initiatives

Oversee workshop operations, ensuring alignment with studio and project requirements

About you

Significant experience in operations or practice management within architecture and design is essential

Confident managing complex operational functions with a practical, hands-on approach

Calm, adaptable and solutions-oriented, with strong communication skills

Comfortable working at both strategic and operational levels
