The AJ Architecture Awards 2025 winners have been announced.

A total of 120 projects were shortlisted across 19 categories for the eighth AJ Architecture Awards, an annual showcase of the very best built projects in the UK.

Top prizes:

Architect of the Year: RCKa, recognised for its sustained focus on people-centred design and social purpose.

Design of the Year: Bethnal Green Office by Carmody Groarke, noted for its inventive transformation and upcycling of a 1970s former textile workshop.

Editor’s Choice: Thomas-McBrien Architects for New Wave House, commended for its considered, Optoppen-style retrofit.

The Manser Medal – AJ House of the Year: Awarded to Takero Shimazaki for Niwa House, a lightweight, pavilion-inspired residence.
