The Royal Borough of Kensington and Chelsea has resolved to grant planning permission for its portion of the Earls Court masterplan, following approval by Hammersmith & Fulham Council last month. As a result, the masterplan has now secured a resolution to grant planning permission across the full 44-acre site, enabling up to 7.5 million sq ft of development to be delivered over the next 20 years.

The approval reflects extensive engagement over several years with residents, community groups, businesses and local stakeholders. The former Earls Court Exhibition Centre site will be redeveloped into a major urban district, repositioning it as a destination for innovation and cultural activity. The £10 billion regeneration will deliver a climate-resilient mixed-use neighbourhood, including approximately 4,000 homes, three cultural venues, and 2.5 million sq ft of workspace focused on the climate innovation sector, alongside 20 acres of public realm and green space.

The first phase of development is expected to progress from 2026, allowing the benefits of the scheme to be realised at the earliest opportunity.
